Meet Amira, the Learning Agent for reading growth
Amira started decades ago from research out of Carnegie Mellon University, and was developed by experts in the Science of Reading and in AI. What began as a 1:1 tutor has become a Learning Agent that is both an always-available instructional assistant to the teacher and a 1:1 learning companion for the student.
Built to work with teacher oversight
Amira is designed to work with teacher direction. As a Learning Agent she plays many roles at once: instructional assistant, personal tutor, proctor, planner, coach and analyst. With that much happening at once, she reduces the workload on the teacher, scales instructional impact, and gives back time for student and teacher to be together.
