The Amira Reading SuiteAmira is 100% bilingual in English and Spanish and connects assessment, instruction and tutoring, so a district strategy and what happens in a classroom are the same thing.

Request a demo

First, so we send you somewhere useful.

Amira is adopted through school districts rather than by families, so a demo would not tell you much. To find out how Amira is used in your child’s school, contact your school or district office.

What happens when your child reads with Amira

Almost there. Two quick things, so we route you to the right person.

Thank you. Your demo request has been received.

Accessibility

Accessibility statement

Amira exists to give every child the chance to become a reader. Every child means every child, including students with disabilities.

We want Amira to work for the students who use it and for the educators who support them. That includes students, teachers, interventionists, and administrators who rely on assistive technology or accessibility accommodations.

How we approach accessibility

There are three basic parts to our approach.

1

Test and document

We test and document the level of accessibility within our current products, so that what we claim is something we have measured rather than something we assume.

2

Build to established standards

We develop and improve accessibility features against Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

3

Listen and act

When educators or districts identify an accessibility problem, we want to know about it. Reports from the people using Amira in classrooms are the fastest way we find the things our own testing missed.

We are not finished

Accessibility is an ongoing part of how we build and improve Amira. If you encounter an accessibility problem in Amira or in any of our materials, email support@amiralearning.com and tell us:

  • Where you were in the product, for example the student reading experience or the teacher dashboard
  • What assistive technology or accommodation you were using
  • What you expected to happen, and what happened instead
Reports go to a person, not a queue. Tell us as much as you can about what you were doing at the time. The more specific the report, the faster we can reproduce the problem and fix it.

Resources

If your district already uses Amira, these explain the accommodations currently available and how to enable them.
