Amira Learning Announces Founding Team
Startup to be led by former senior technical managers at Renaissance Learning
Amira Learning, Inc., the startup reinventing learning to read with AI, announced that Mark Angel will be joining as CEO and Pete Jungwirth will join as CTO.
Mark Angel comes to Amira from edtech leader Renaissance Learning, where he served as CTO for more than 5 years. Mark’s previous history includes a stint as General Manager of Nuance Communication’s Multichannel business. He is a founder of 2 successful start-ups. Papyrus Technology was acquired by Ernst & Young LLC and Knova, Inc went public before being acquired by Battery Ventures.
Pete Jungwirth has had a long and successful career in edtech and as an engineering manager. He worked and Renaissance for 15 years, helping to build the most widely used applications in American schools. For the last few years, as SVP of R&D, he lead Renaissance’s engineering teams.
