Update Username & Password

In this article you will learn how to update or change information for existing users (staff or students)*. All updates and changes must follow the original Rostering Guidelines provided to your District/School Rostering Lead.

  • *NOTE for HMH Customers - HMH Customers will update usernames and passwords for staff and students via Ed: Your Friend in Learning. For help with Ed rostering, contact HMH Technical Support via techsupport@hmhco.com.

Roster Setup

Each district/school has a Roster Lead who set up staff and student usernames and passwords via Amira’s Rostering Process.  Staff usernames are emails.  Student usernames typically follow a district naming convention with a three-letter prefix added to the front to keep the student usernames unique within the Amira database.

Requesting a change or update for staff

To request a change to usernames or passwords for staff, contact your Roster Lead with your current username and your request. Your Roster Lead will need to submit a CSV file with columns to represent only the changes: one column with your existing username (email) and the other column(s) with the new information.

Change Password Example (format of CSV):

Column 1: Email

  • firstlast@gmail.com

Column 2: NEW Password

  • SomethingSecure

 

Add / Change a Class Example (format of CSV):

Column 1: Email

  • firstlast@gmail.com

Column 2: NEW Class Name

  • Smith-K

Requesting a change or update for students

To request a change for a student username or password, contact your Roster Lead with your student’s current username and your request. Your Roster Lead will need to submit a CSV file with columns to represent only the changes: one column with the existing username and the other column(s) with the new information.

Change Password for Student Example (format of CSV):

Column 1: Username

  • ssdfirlas

Column 2: NEW Password

  • 123456
