Scoring Screen: Practice

This article highlights the features of the scoring screen. Amira provides an automatically scored assessment, with student audio*, that you can review after each student reading. The scoring screen highlights words that were scored as: correct, incorrect, not read, last word in the phrase, low error words or flagged (for audio concerns). From the scoring screen you may edit the scoring if you wish.

*Note: By default, audio is deleted after the student’s session is scored. To enable audio within Amira, have your authorized district lead refer to the How to Configure Amira article and complete the Configuration Survey.

Scoring Access

On the Recent Activity dashboard, select a student tile.

Amira automatically scores a student's reading. Scoring and student audio are available after each assessment or practice session. Teachers can easily edit/override a word score (see below). This rescoring actually helps the machine learning elements of Amira improve. Please note: the current scoring screen is the first step towards making future improvements. The scoring screen allows Amira's scoring to be more transparent. Future iterations of Amira scoring will improve upon this feature. We are open to your feedback! (Reach out to support@amiralearning.com!)

Amira Practice scores words read instantaneously as the session is saved.
